Luis Quijano, a director, producer, and screenwriter born in Mérida, has built his career in Mexico and the United States, receiving grants and awards for his work. Through his production company, Balché Films, he has focused on horror and fantasy as ways to reflect the complexity of human nature.
“Presenting my work in Mérida means returning to my origins. I want to encourage young people not to give up, to set goals and pursue them with persistence—because cinema is a challenging path, but with perseverance, it is possible,” he said.
